Farewell

by James Vincent L. Bayang | shared on He Said, She Said |

I’ve waited a lifetime, I’ve waited for this chance to come
I’ve walked a thousand miles forgetting where I’m from
Now will you just please stay here with me for another day
Because I know it won’t be long until we have to part way

I just want to stare through your universe eyes for the last time
I want to reminisce the times we’ve never had
Can you blame me? Will it be considered a crime?
Is it a lavish thing to want you so bad?

The dawn is here, we need to bid farewell, this goodbye shall be forever
Even though you forget, I will surely remember
For me, you will always be my greatest journey
You will always be my euphoria and agony

I was always yours but you were never mine
You’re the fullness of my dreams but I was never thine
How ironic it is to fall in a blink of an eye but to forget is an eternity
Oh say it! How can I can forget someone who has been everything to me?

Goodbye to the last thing I want to forget at night
Goodbye to the first thing I remember at daylight
This will be the last poem I’ll write for you
And the last time I’ll weep too
