To the Man who became a Boy

by Brigitte Fines | shared on He Said, She Said |

To the boy who came to dislike me.
To the boy who chose to give up.
To the boy who ended up not feeling anything for me.
To the boy who left.

I wondered how could you leave me when you said I just have to be myself.
I wondered how could you give up when you said we’ll last.
I wondered how could you drop everything after all that we had.
I wondered how could you turn your back when you said you were better.
I wondered how did everything diminished so fast.

To the man who I thought highly of.
To the man who strived to dance with me.
To the man who overlooked everything, at first.
To the man who showed that getting to know me was his thirst.

I wondered how did it all stop.
I wondered why everything came to an end.
When all that we ever aimed for is to be at the top.
When all that we seem to ever want was no end.

To the boy whom I never expected these feelings from.
To the boy I never expected to give up.
To the boy I never expected to dislike me.
To the boy I never expected to leave.

Just so you know,
I don’t resent or hate you after all that you put me through.
I don’t as well blame you.
No nothing.
Just left wondering.
