Dance with Me

by BC | shared on He Said, She Said |

Red dancing shoes, worn,
Subtle music plays.
I stand up from the floor,
And look around the room,
Only to find out I was alone.

I dance along with the beat,
Even if I’m off-beat.
I dance and dance and dance,
Until I can no longer contain the fatigue,
And fall right off my feet.

Flashback to yesterday struck,
Where you took my hand,
And take the lead.
We dance to an unfamiliar music,
To a step that makes the both of us look stupid.

Until I was awaken by a snap,
All the lights in the room were up.
Someone’s hand was laid infront of me,
I raised my head to see.
Shocked engulfed me as I saw him smiling while uttering
“Come on my dear daughter, Please dance with me”.
