We all have a duty to do good. – Pope Francis
Is it really hard to do what is good and just?
Every year during Lent, God asks us to re-examine ourselves and for us to look deep within our hearts to see that there is something good within us. How’s that so, when we know that we are not perfect and that we have done so much wrong in our lives?
Remember that God made us according to His likeness. He painstakingly created each of us to be one of a kind. But He molded our hearts to be like His. Because God is full of love, so are we. However, at some point in our lives, we were pained, struck down and got lost in our way. We somehow forgot the way back to His heart where all goodness is.
Today, as you read this, God has found a way to lead you back on your journey. You were once lost, but now are found. His everlasting love has shone in all its brightness and has guided you back to where you should be — to be in God’s loving embrace.
You are no longer lost. God’s hand is now stretched out for you to hold on to once again. Whatever wrong you have done is forgiveable. Just ask to be forgiven.
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:9
So with God’s mercy upon you today, may you also forgive those who have wronged you. Open your heart and let God put a new and right spirit within you.
It is not by chance that you have read this. God has simply blessed you. Now go and be free. Love and know that you are loved.
(We encourage you to say The Lord’s Prayer (Our Father) after reading this.)
Someone else needs to know God’s love and goodness.
Be an instrument of His love and spread His goodness and mercy.
